Every month, SYFY WIRE will be bringing you the solicitations for all the upcoming comic books you need to know about. Today we have Boom! comics listings for December 2017 single-issue comics, trade paperbacks, hardcover collections, and games. Please note that there are 12 solicitations that are early for February 2018.
Some of our genre Boom! comics picks of December include:
• Art fans will want to track down Asaf Hanuka's latest graphic novel, Pizzeria Kamikaze, which is reprinted in color for the first time. It is the beautiful story of Mordy, who commits suicide to escape his life but finds himself in a purgatory of sorts where others like him are stuck. It gets even worse when his ex-girlfriend shows up, which prompts him to track her down.
• If you're a fan of Jay Fosgitt, who did those adorably cute Rocket Raccoon & Groot comics for Marvel, Bodie Troll is the all-ages book you need to add to your bookshelf. It's about a creature who can't escape its cuteness despite his desire to be ferocious. He embarks on a series of adventures and discovers the meaning of friendships and the importance of identity.
• For those who like to look at biblical characters from a modern perspective, take note of Jeff Loveness's Judas #1, which is an exploration of Judas Iscariot and his great sacrifice.
• We might be a little biased here, but The Expanse Origins details the stories of the crew of the Rocinante with a new story featuring Detective Miller. The Expanse creator James S.A. Corey — writers Hallie Lambert and Georgia Lee — and artist Huang Danlan collaborate on these stories that serve as a nice amuse bouche for those who have already torn through the novels and need something to satisfy their appetite until the next season on SYFY.
Check out all these listings and more below, and then let us know what comics are making it onto your pull list in the comments!
