Bradley Cooper, aka Rocket Raccoon, believes Thanos did the right thing in Infinity War

At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Rocket Raccoon lost his best friend, Groot. The tree-like alien, disintegrated into a fine powder after Thanos wiped out half of all life in the universe via the six Infinity Stones embedded in his Infinity Gauntlet.

Rocket looked and sounded pretty bummed about it, but the guy who voices him, Bradley Cooper, is a little more sympathetic to Thanos' cause. Speaking with BBC Radio 1, the Star is Born director compared the Mad Titan (Josh Brolin) to Marlon Brando, before saying:

"He's got a point! Part of me's glad he's sitting there in his chair with the sun coming down. I mean, I hate that half the world's dead, but there's a part of me [that's pleased] he succeeded. I don't know what that says about me."

We met Rocket in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie and while he's voiced by Cooper, he's also got a way of talking that conjures images of a tough guy from Brooklyn.

This is, of course, ironic since the character is a short trash panda, but Cooper revealed that Rocket's accent is a mixture of two Daniel Day-Lewis characters: Bill the Butcher from Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York and Daniel Plainview from Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will be Blood

What Cooper loves most about voicing Rocket is that since the entire movie is shot before he comes in, he gets to improvise off everyone else.

"It's like cheating ... they don't get to respond, so Rocket gets the last word," he said.

We'll see how Rocket actually handles the absence of Groot when Avengers 4 (currently untitled) arrives in theaters on Friday, May 3, 2019.
