After briefly flirting with starring in the Crow remake, the Limitless star is this close to signing on to the role of superspy Napoleon Solo in Steven Soderbergh's update of The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Soderbergh reportedly wanted his Ocean's Eleven star George Clooney to play the premiere agent of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, but Clooney couldn't handle the stunts that'd be required to properly acquit the role of Napoleon Solo--which was originally played on the 1964-68 TV series by Robert Vaughn.

So Cooper stepped up to bat--after Matt Damon and Johnny Depp passed. Still, a win's a win, right? No word if Soderbergh's U.N.C.L.E. will have an Illya Kuryakin (originally played by David McCallum) part as well. But there's always room for a creepy blond Russian.
