Starz has unleashed the first four opening minutes from its eagerly anticipated upcoming horror series Ash vs. Evil Dead, and boy oh boy, what an opening.
In the video, we’re re-introduced to former S-Mart employee Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), the aging, corset-wearing lothario who is still the same ol’ Ash -- only older, and perhaps (one can only live in hope) a little wiser?
This being Starz, it won’t come as a complete surprise to see our groovy hero getting some in the women's bathroom of a seedy bar. However, all’s not well that ends well as the “lady” Ash is interacting with turns out to be a Deadite. Ouch! I don’t think that’s going to end with a, erm, happy ending. Check it out:
In the 10-part first-season series Ash vs. Evil Dead, set to premiere worldwide on Oct. 31, “Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons -- personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its 'Evil' grip.”
Rounding up the cast are Ray Santiago and Dana Delorenzo as Ash’s Value Stop co-workers and sidekicks Pablo and Kelly, Jill Marie Jones as Amanda Fisher and Lucy Lawless as Ruby.
