Bruce Campbell shoots down an Army of Darkness 2 rumor (that he started)

Sorry, Evil Dead fans. I guess we can go ahead and put our boomsticks and chainsaws back into storage.

After setting geek hearts on fire with confirmation that he and Sam Raimi plan to make Army of Darkness 2, original deadite ass-kicker Bruce Campbell has set the record straight. Those online rumors (which he started with comments at a recent con) are apparently total crap, and there are currently no tangible plans for a sequel. Sigh.

Check out an excerpt from Campbell’s interview below:

“It's all Internet B.S. There's no reality whatsoever. These random comments slip out of my mouth or Sam Raimi's mouth, next thing you know, we're making a sequel.”

Sadly, it all seemed a little too awesome to be true, didn’t it? Though fans have been clamoring for a sequel the past few decades, there hasn’t been much momentum from Raimi and company. Then came news that a sequel to the recent Evil Dead reboot has been derailed, and it sounds like we might never get a return to the B-movie awesomeness that was Army of Darkness.

Check out the full video interview with Campbell below, and let us know what you think of the news.
