CBS’ new Star Trek series is getting an official title, and the first teaser trailer was unleashed during the Star Trek 20th-anniversary panel at San Diego Comic-Con, revealing which Federation starship will be featured in the new series.

And it's not the Enterprise.

Titled Star Trek: Discovery, the show will feature the voyages of the U.S.S. Discovery, NCC-1031. Showrunner Bryan Fuller was on hand moderating the panel that also included Star Trek actors William Shatner (TOS), Brent Spiner (TNG), Michael Dorn (TNG), Jeri Ryan (Voyager) and Scott Bakula (Enterprise).

Fuller revealed that the new series will not be episodic like the five previous Star Trek series (I’m not counting the animated series in this) but that the show would be “telling stories like a novel.” Have a look at the teaser below which gives us a first look at the Discovery, and let us know what you think.

Star Trek: Discovery will premiere on CBS All Access (CBS’ streaming channel) in January 2017.
