Fox must have spent a pretty penny on ad time during The Walking Dead's season finale. During the commercial breaks, it premiered TV spots for X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The latter showed us just how much Caesar's gang has grown since the last time we saw it.
The TV spot is accompanied by a voiceover that explains the apes' competitive edge. "You know the scary thing about them," the voice asks. "They don't need power. Lights. Heat. Nothing. That's their advantage. That's what makes them stronger." We're shown an army of apes on horseback galloping through the woods. There's also a shot of a city, which has fallen into a jungle-like decay. That virus obviously did a lot of damage.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell and Judy Greer. The film opens in theaters July 11.
