Can Heroes' Bryan Fuller pump fresh blood into The Munsters?

Bryan Fuller, one of Heroes' chief architects back when it was good, is developing a new take on the classic supernatural sitcom for NBC.

In case you're not as old as Methuselah, The Munsters revolved around a family of classic monsters—all based on Universal characters like Frankenstein and Dracula—who lived a blue-collar life, unlike The Addams Family, who were a wee bit more upper-crust.

At this point, NBC has only ordered a pilot of this modern-day reboot, described as Modern Family meets True Blood; but if anyone can nail The Munsters' blend of the arcane and the mundane, it's the guy who created the late, lamented Pushing Daisies.

Added bonus: rumor has it that Guillermo del Toro may be involved in some capacity. And we all know that automatically makes anything 25 percent more awesome.

So what do you think of the idea?
