With director and executive producer McG out of the running for the directing job on the David E. Kelley Wonder Woman TV pilot, another interesting name has popped up for the Wonder gig. Here's a clue: the guy directed the Caprica pilot.

Deadline reports that Jeffrey Reiner (NOT actor Jeremy Renner) is coming close to a deal with NBC to direct the much talked about Wonder Woman TV pilot for NBC.

Reiner is no stranger to directing sci-fi, having directed the Caprica TV pilot as well as a couple of episodes of The Event and the short-lived Surface. The Friday Night Lights former director and executive producer would probably be a great shoo-in for the gig.

As for McG, they say that he had to drop out of the talks with NBC because of a scheduling conflict with a feature commitment. (It may also have something to do with the director's well-known fear of flying; the gig would have required airplane travel.)

So what say you all? Are you happy about Jeffrey Reiner possibly directing Wonder Woman 101?
