After reading those disturbing theories surrounding Disney's Cars franchise and exactly why there are no humans in their world, it's tough to ever view this semi-freaky franchise through the same innocent eyes.

Nevertheless, the third event of this CGI-animated series is about to take the green flag and zoom into theaters on June 16, and we've got the final trailer for you, with Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) fearing failure against the cocky next-gen racer Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer) as The Eagles' "Take It To The Limit" rocks on.

Directed by Brian Fee, a storyboard artist for Cars and Cars 2, this current chapter in the auto-obsessed series features returning stars Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt), Ramone (Cheech Marin) with a new fleet of vehicles including Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo) and Sterling (Nathan Fillion).

Here's one more lap around the official synopsis for those late to the race:

Cars 3 begins when, blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
