Everything he did, he did for the Rebellion.
Four years after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story first gave the galaxy far, far away a tragic new hero, Star Wars fans can finally catch a fresh new glimpse of Cassian Andor in action. Andor, the upcoming Disney+ series based around Rogue One's do-or-die namesake character, puts star Diego Luna front and center in this first behind-the-scenes look.
In the clip, which was unveiled during Disney's Investor Day presentation on Thursday, fans got a peek at the sets being built, the stunts being rehearsed, and the costumes being tried out. And of course, the show itself being filmed.
Take a look:
"I'm really excited having the chance to explore Cassian, it's really fun to go on a set that is emulating something you like so much," says Luna in the video. Sure, there's no Baby Yoda in this footage, but we get some great early looks at the series' concept art, as well as some cool creature effects from vetern Star Wars practical FX artist Neal Scanlan. And, like The Mandalorian before it, Andor looks to bolster the expanding live-action Star Wars slate at Disney+ with a similarly scrappy tone.
Andor, shown as an Alliance spy and a Captain in their military ranks over the course of the standalone prequel film, continues to fight the good fight in the clip, as his actions lead up to his ultimate destiny: stealing the plans to the Death Star. Or, as Luna describes it: "It is the building of a revolution."
Along with Cassian Andor, the series focuses on fan-favorite droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), who will join the character in a galaxy far, far away to go on adventures penned by Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy (who also directs) and showrunner Stephen Schiff.
The 12-episode first season of Andor will hit Disney+ in 2022.
