The upcoming Sesame Street movie might be getting an Oscar-winning actor, Supergirl finds its next Big Bad, and the Batman prequel Pennyworth adds a genre vet in our latest casting roundup.
First up, Anne Hathaway is circling the lead role in the upcoming feature adaptation of Sesame Street. The Hollywood Reporter has word that Hathaway is the filmmaker's first choice, though it's currently not clear if she'll accept the offer.
Portlandia co-creator Jonathan Krisel will direct the big screen musical, which will presumably feature the usual gang of Muppets. Michael Aguilar and Stranger Things' Shawn Levy are attached as producers.

Next up, Supergirl has found its new Big Bad in Jessica Meraz. According to Deadline, the Chasing Life actress will play Menagerie, an iconic DC villain, a member of Manchester Black's "Elite," and quite an accomplished jewel thief with a flexible moral code.
At this point, there are no details about when the character, who also goes by Pamela Ferrer, will be brought into the fold. The CW series is currently in its fourth season, and will conclude next week's three-night crossover, Elseworlds.
Finally, Pennyworth, the U.K.-set Batman prequel about Bruce Wayne's loyal butler, just added another regular cast member. EPIX has announced that Polly Walker (Clash of the Titans, John Carter) will play Peggy Sykes, a popular Lancashire dominatrix who's described as a "sensible matriarch in a family of maniacs."
Walker had previously worked with Pennyworth creator Bruno Heller on both The Mentalist and HBO's historical drama Rome. Heller is also behind the other Batman prequel series, Gotham, which will kick off its final season next month on FOX.
Walker will join Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, and Paloma Faith as Peggy's sister, Bet Sykes. The 10-episode series is currently in production in Leavesden, U.K., and is expected to air on EPIX sometime in 2019.
