We're charmed. Just days after the first sister was cast in CW's Charmed reboot, another actress is joining the coven. Plus, DC's Titans adds a Doom Patrol member, and The Greatest American Hero gets another co-worker.
According to Deadline, Sarah Jeffery (Shades of Blue) has been cast as one of the three sisters in The CW's upcoming Charmed pilot. She will play Madison Pruitt, the youngest of the sisters and "a bubbly college freshman who finds witchcraft at odds with her goal of getting into a super-fun sorority." Recently Melonie Diaz (The Breaks, Fruitvale Station, The Cobbler) was cast as another sister named Mel, leaving the third sister Macy the final to be cast.
The Charmed reboot will follow the three Pruitt sisters "vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy and maintaining familial bonds." The original Charmed aired from 1998 to 2006 on The WB network and similarly followed three witches who also happened to be sisters. Jennie Snyder Urman (creator/showrunner of Jane the Virgin) penned the pilot and will also executive-produce.
In other casting news, DC's Titans series has found a new member of the Doom Patrol: Jake Michaels (Killjoys) is set to play Cliff Steel, who becomes Robotman after losing his body in a horrific car crash. However, he is able to save his mind and use it along with the new, robotic body. Geoff Johns recently confirmed the Doom Patrol would make an appearance in at least one episode of the upcoming live-action remake of the Teen Titans comic.
Lastly, Dennis Andres (Star Trek: Discovery, Dark Matter) has joined the cast of The Greatest American Hero pilot, according to Deadline. The new half-hour comedy remake of the '80s cult classic will follow 30-year-old, uninspired Meera (played by Hannah Simone), who receives a suit to protect the planet, changing the trajectory of her life. Andres will play Justin Hayes, a co-worker at the marketing agency where Meera works.
