Our latest casting roundup takes us out of the muck and into the future!
Nam is most known for playing Felix Lutz, a Westworld technician who helps Thandie Newton's Maeve rage against her human masters.
Swamp Thing will premiere on the DC Universe streaming service later this year.
The two had previously worked together on Blade Runner 2049, in which Bautista played Sapper Morton. Right now, the cast is small but comprises heavy hitters like Timothee Chalamet (Beautiful Boy) and Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible — Fallout), who are playing Paul Atreides and Lady Jessica, respectively.
No release date has been set for Dune, whose screenplay is being penned by Villeneuve, Jon Spaihts (Prometheus), and Eric Roth (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). David Lynch (Twin Peaks) originally adapted the book into a poorly received film in 1984 — a pale shadow of what filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky had in mind before his financing fell through.
That's still true, but he won't be the only familiar face to return. Per a report by Entertainment Weekly, Kurt Fuller will be reprising his role of the short-tempered angel, Zachariah, for the special television event.
Currently in the middle of Season 14, Supernatural will premiere its 300th episode on The CW on Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. EST.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the all-star lineup includes: Elyes Gabel (Thomas Kallor/Star Boy), Diane Guerrero (Jessica Cruz/Green Lantern), Kevin Conroy (Batman), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman), George Newbern (Superman), Peter Jessop (Thorak), Tom Kenny (Bloodsport), Matthew Yang King (The Persuader), Sumalee Montano (Emerald Empress), Philip Anthony Rodriguez (Mano), Daniela Bobadilla (Miss Martian), Kevin Michael Richardson (Mr. Terrific), Noel Fisher (Brainiac 5 ), and Tara Strong (Saturn Girl).
Set in Metropolis, the movie finds Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman attempting to stop Mano, Persuader, and Tharok from using Jessica Cruz to release Emerald Empress and Validus. Luckily, the Justice League has Star Boy, a hero who may just be the key to preventing the Five from completing their nefarious plans.
The movie does not yet have a release date, but is expected in the spring. Thanks to a recent episode of DC Daily, we know that all animated DC films will be available on DC Universe the day they go on sale to the public.
