More news on the casting front today, as Once Upon a Time has added a prince to its roster, and Detective Pikachu's investigative team keeps getting better.

According to Deadline, Jeff Pierre has joined the ABC fairytale series Once Upon a Time as a recurring regular. He will play Prince Naveen, who was the love interest of Tiana in Disney's The Princess and the Frog. Tiana (played by Mekia Cox on OUAT) has been on the show since the beginning of the season, playing Cinderella's roommate in the modern segments.

Pierre is a regular on another ABC property, Freeform's Beyond. He also had a recurring role on Shameless. He debuts as Naveen on the March 9 episode of Once Upon a Time.

On the features side, Detective Pikachu has added Bill Nighy (top photo) and Chris Geere (pictured below) to the cast in undisclosed roles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie, which stars Ryan Reynolds in the titular role, follows the detective as he helps a teen find his missing father. Justice Smith (The Get Down) plays the teen; Kathryn Newton (Supernatural) plays a journalist who joins in the search; and Ken Watanabe was just announced as another detective in the film.

Nighy is a well known character actor, having roles in the Underworld, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter franchises. Geere is best known for his role in FXX's series You're the Worst.

Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) is directing Detective Pikachu, and filming is supposed to begin this month for an expected May 10, 2019, release.
