We’ve got your latest roundup of casting news as several anticipated projects add leads and supporting characters. On the docket we've got a sequel to an all-time great horror classic, a surreal action movie, and an upcoming Netflix sci-fi show.

First, Deadline reports that Mike Flanagan has cast young newcomer Kyliegh Curran as Abra Stone in Warner Bros.' Doctor Sleep. An adaptation of the novel by Stephen King, Doctor Sleep follows an adult Danny Torrance, who will be played by Ewan McGregor, decades after the events of The Shining.

Abra Stone, who also possesses the gift of the shining, plays a pivotal role in story, and gives Danny purpose as the two combat the villainous Rose the Hat, who will be played by Rebecca Ferguson. According to Deadline, the production looked at 800 girls for the role of Stone.

Next up, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Michelle Yeoh and Awkwafina, hot off of Crazy Rich Asians, are in talks to join the directors of Swiss Army Man in their next film. While little is known about the project at the moment, the film from surrealist genre directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known collectively as The Daniels, is being described as an interdimensional action film.

The project also has Marvel directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, onboard as producers. A title and production date has yet to be revealed at this time.

Lastly, Netflix’s sci-fi drama Another Life continues to round out its cast. The Hollywood Reporter learned that New Mutants star Blu Hunt has joined the previously announced cast consisting of Katee Sackhoff, Selma Blair, Tyler Hoechlin, and Justin Chatwin.

Hunt will play August, the youngest member of a crew of astronauts who while searching for the origins of an alien artifact encounter dangerous odds amid their deep-space investigation. The 10-episode Another Life is poised to become another buzzy genre hit for Netflix.
