Two of The CW's superhero shows will have new faces joining the cast when they return next month.
A familiar face is coming to Star City for Season 7. Katherine McNamara, who you probably know best from Shadowhunters, will play the character Maya, according to TV Line, on this season on Arrow. The character is described as "a scrappy street fighter and thief" similar to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Now, that doesn't mean you can expect the undead to make an appearance, but we're excited to see how Maya makes an impact in Star City. McNamara's role will be recurring and will show up in the first half of the season, which begins airing October 15 on The CW.
The CW's Black Lightning is also gaining a new recurring character next season. According to Deadline, Kearran Giovanni (Beauty and the Beast) will play a British intelligence operative named Cutter. No other details are available for the character yet, but she's sure to make things interesting for Season 2. Will she be in some way connected to the mysterious suitcase we saw at the end of Season 1? Or with returning baddie Tobias Whale? We'll just have to wait and find out when Season 2 returns on October 9.
