In the last two decades, Orlando Bloom has fought orcs in The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit films, and challenged ghost pirates and sea monsters in The Pirates of the Caribbean. Now, Bloom’s next genre project will take him backwards and forwards in time.
Via Deadline, Bloom has been signed to star in Needle in a Timestack, a new time travel drama from Oscar-winning writer and director John Ridley (12 Years a Slave). The film is based on a short story by Robert Silverberg that follows a married couple as they attempt to hold their union together. However, they live in a world where the past and present are always in flux because time travel is real.
Leslie Odom Jr., Freida Pinto, and Cynthia Erivo have also signed on for Needle in a Timestack. A start date for production has not been announced.
The first trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is set to drop this week. But before that happens, the studio has released a new poster that features the alien Duplo invaders who will make life very difficult for Emmet (Chris Pratt), Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), LEGO Batman (Will Arnett). Fortunately, they will be joined by some old friends.
According to Deadline, Alison Brie and Nick Offerman are reprising their roles as Unikitty and MetalBeard, respectively. Additionally, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz is playing Sweet Mayhem, while Broad City‘s Arturo Castro is voicing Ice Cream Cone.
The LEGO Movie 2 will be released on February 8, 2019.
