Pedro Pascal has joined Wonder Woman 2. Further details are being kept under wraps, but according to Variety, he'll be playing a "key role." The actor previously played Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones (where he met one of the show's most gruesome ends) and Javier Pena on Narcos.
The sequel is reportedly set in the 1980s, against the backdrop of the Cold War. Patty Jenkins is back to direct, with Gal Gadot returning to play Wonder Woman. Kristen Wiig was recently cast as Cheetah, the film's villain. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 1, 2019.
In other casting news, ScreenRant reports that New England Patriots football player/giant Rob Gronkowski has joined Boss Level. Described as a "Groundhog Day-style action thriller," Boss Level is about a retired special forces veteran who is caught in a never-ending loop, reliving his own death until he can figure out who kills him.
The show features Frank Grillo, Mel Gibson, Annabelle Wallis, and Will Sasso. Grillo plays the veteran, but all other roles are being kept under wraps for now. Gronkowski's casting comes on the heels of Naomi Watts joining the cast.
In pilot news, Deadline is reporting that Karan Oberoi has landed a role on the upcoming Roswell pilot at The CW. A reboot of the early 2000s TV series, the new Roswell focuses on aliens in a small New Mexico town, with an added twist of dealing with illegal immigration.
Oberoi will play Noah Bracken, who senses that his wife may be hiding a secret that will tear them apart. She has previously appeared in Contamination (from Roswell EP Julie Plec), and has had recurring roles in Notorious and NCIS.
And lastly, also via Deadline, Eme Ikwuakor, who previously played the role of Gorgon in ABC's Inhumans, has signed on for a recurring role in Season 2 of Starz's Counterpart starring J.K. Simmons. Ilkwuakor will play Yorke, "Management's enigmatic fixer."
