The upcoming Stargirl series recruits three members of the Injustice Society and Netflix finds its teen cast for the upcoming horror series Chambers in the latest casting roundup.
Starting things off, the upcoming DC Universe series Stargirl has cast three roles, per a report from Deadline. Joy Osmanski will play Tigress, Neil Hopkins will be Sportsmaster, and Nelson Lee will take on the part of Dragon King.
Both Tigress and Sportsmaster were introduced in the pages of DC Comics in 1947, were heavily involved with the league of criminals known as the Injustice Society, and ended up getting married at one point. The Dragon King first appeared in 1981, and was never an official member, though his daughter known as Shiv was.
The group of villains will factor heavily into Stargirl's solo series, which is a pet project of writer and executive producer Geoff Johns. It's expected to launch on DC Universe sometime in 2019.
Next up, Netflix has found its teen cast for the supernatural drama series Chambers. Deadline reports that Lilliya Reid, Nicholas Galitzine, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Lilli Kay, Sarah Mezzanotte, and Griffin Powell-Arcand have all joined the cast. They'll join the previously announced Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn.
The hourlong series will follow a young heart attack survivor, played by Sivan Alyra Rose, who begins taking on some of the... less favorable characteristics of her deceased heart donor.
Chambers is aimed at the young adult market, with an expected Netflix premiere date this coming year.
