With the cast and a release date locked in, we’ll be hearing a whole lot more about Marvel’s Ant-Man very soon. But who the heck is the tiniest Avenger?
While we count the years until that July 17, 2015, release date, the folks at IGN have put together a nice 4+-minute retrospective dubbed “Who Is Ant-Man?,” which recaps the history and career of the classic hero.
The clip digs into the decades-long history of Ant-Man, going back to his creation in 1962 in Tales to Astonish, and recaps his early adventures fighting Commies and freaks of science. The retrospective also hits on every version of Ant-Man, including the Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) characters we’ll meet in the big-screen version.
Though this character is one of the lesser-known heroes that Marvel will be bringing to the big screen, it's also one of the oldest projects they've had in development, dating back to around the Iron Man days. So it'll be interesting to see if the plan they've been kicking around for a decade is worth the wait.
