Regardless of whether you plan on seeing (or ignoring) the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles flick this weekend, this nifty retrospective is well worth a watch to catch up on 30+ years of Turtle history.

Vulture has put together an excellent 3+ minute clip that tracks the saga from Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s original (ultra-violent) comic to the clean-cut cartoon pizza-eaters we know and love. From Daredevil in-jokes to Uncle Phil, there were actually a few tidbits we didn’t even know.

Though it is brief, the clip looks back at the comics, the 1980s cartoon, the original live-action film series and even the modern-day CGI series — all the way to Jonathan Liebesman and Michael Bay’s modern-day reboot opening this weekend.

Check out the clip below and let us know what you think:

So, will you be checking out the new Turtles flick, or are you gonna skip it and just watch Guardians of the Galaxy again?
