Catch up on the twisted history of TMNT before seeing the new movie this weekend

Regardless of whether you plan on seeing (or ignoring) the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles flick this weekend, this nifty retrospective is well worth a watch to catch up on 30+ years of Turtle history.

Vulture has put together an excellent 3+ minute clip that tracks the saga from Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s original (ultra-violent) comic to the clean-cut cartoon pizza-eaters we know and love. From Daredevil in-jokes to Uncle Phil, there were actually a few tidbits we didn’t even know.

Though it is brief, the clip looks back at the comics, the 1980s cartoon, the original live-action film series and even the modern-day CGI series — all the way to Jonathan Liebesman and Michael Bay’s modern-day reboot opening this weekend.
