We’ve got some good news for fans of both Star Trek and bourbon (we’re assuming there’s at least some overlap). CBS Consumer Products and Silver Screen Bottling Company have teamed up to unveil James T. Kirk Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the first spirit to be released under the new Star Trek branded spirits line.
So now fans can boldly go on adventures without leaving their recliners. Toast to the undiscovered country and final frontier with this officially licensed liquor selected from barrels aged between 4 and 12 years.
So, okay. It’s not Romulan Ale. But it’ll get you drunk. Plus, it’s legal. And, y’know, real.
The website for the bourbon boasts the spirit celebrates Kirk’s “bold spirit of adventure.” Star Trek veterans Michael Okuda and Doug Drexler contributed to the design of the bottle. Each batch of James T. Kirk Straight Bourbon Whiskey has hints of caramel, Asian 5 spice and pecan. So, we’re guessing that it also tastes far better than Romulan Ale.
The James T. Kirk Straight Bourbon Whiskey will be featured at San Diego Comic-Con from July 19-22, with additional spirits set to make their debut. Fans can preorder their own bottles for $60.
So, enjoy! Just, y’know, don’t go overboard with the stuff. Remember: that’s not synthehol you’re drinking.
