CBS fall trailers: Person of Interest rocks, Gifted Man romances

CBS has released the trailers for its new season of shows, which give even more reason to get excited about next fall. J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan's Person of Interest may or may not be sci-fi, but it certainly has a Lost-sized mystery at its core. Beyond that it seems to channel its inner Dark Knight, likely thanks to Nolan, who co-wrote that movie.

The Person of Interest trailer gives us a clue why CBS is moving longtime resident CSI from its timeslot to make room for the new series. It stars Emmy winner Michael Emerson as a billionaire who presses a presumed dead former-CIA operative (Jim Caviezel) into helping him stop violent crime before it happens. The mystery part has to do with Emerson's character having access to some mysterious numbers (hummm, where have we heard that before?) which help them track down evildoers. Well, those numbers and the state-of-the-art surveillance techology the two use to fight crime.

We also get a first look at A Gifted Man, which looks heavy on the romance, about a self-centered surgeon who runs into the ghost of his ex-wife.

Here's the trailers:

Person of Interest - Premieres this fall on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET

A Gifted Man - Premieres this fall on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET

What do you think? Does Person of Interest excite? What about A Gifted Man?
