War is brewing between the Old Gods and the New (and I’m not talking about Game of Thrones here) in the latest trailer for American Gods.
Starz has dropped the exciting new promo ahead of the April 30 premiere of showrunners Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Hannibal) and Michael Green's (Logan) new fantasy series. This comes hot on the heels of the SXSW panel a couple of days ago.
Fans of Neil Gaiman's novel should delight to the appearances of several characters in the new trailer, including Crispin Glover's Mr. World, Pablo Schreiber's Mad Sweeney, Orlando Jones' Mr. Nancy, Peter Stormare's Czernobog, Bruce Langley's Technical Boy, Cloris Leachman's Zorya Vechernyaya, Kristin Chenoweth's Easter and many more. Oh, and Emily Browning continues to look as lovely as ever as Laura Moon.
The ten-episode TV show based on Neil Gaiman's American Gods novel stars Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, an ex-convict hired as a bodyguard fresh out of prison by Ian McShane's shady con man, Mr. Wednesday. Read up on the series synopsis before stepping into the fantasy-filled new trailer.
The traditional Old Gods, with mythological roots from around the world, fear irrelevance as their believers die off or are seduced by the money, technology and celebrity offered by the New Gods. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is an ex-con who, left adrift by the recent death of his wife, becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to con man Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). But in truth, Mr. Wednesday is a powerful old deity on a cross-country mission to build an army and reclaim his lost glory.
