Elizabeth Banks’ Charlie's Angels reboot is moving right along as the story of three kickass ladies (Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska this go-around) solving crimes and taking names released its first teaser image today.
Banks is writing and directing the film, which also includes Patrick Stewart, Sam Claflin, Djimon Hounsou, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Noah Centineo, and Jonathan Tucker among its cast. It had some set photos of Kristen Stewart leak, showing the star in action — gun in hand — but the new image is as sleek and refined as you’d expect from the franchise.
Sony Pictures went on Twitter with our first official look at the new Charlie’s Angels, boasting a well-traveled agency in Nairobi, Mumbai, Beijing, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, and Sao Paulo.
Take a look:
The Townsend Agency is back, with Charles Townsend presumably at the detective corporation’s helm. As a figurehead at least, even if his Angels do most of the real work around here. You can even call the number to be personally assured by Banks that the Angels will address your problem. The “woke” and modern reimagining of the agency and its previously kitschy agents will hopefully do for the series what Tom Cruise did for the Mission: Impossible line. That’s certainly the aesthetic here, anyways.
Fans will know for sure when the Angels hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
