It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have our first look at the latest installment in the Ghost in the Shell anime series.
Dubbed Ghost in the Shell: Arise, the new series is a prequel focusing on a young Motoko Kusanagi. The story will include Public Security Section 9, including members Batou, Togusa, Saito, Pazu, Ishikawa, Borma and Aramaki.
Much like the 1995 original, it has a great cinematic style and looks like a worthy successor to the franchise.
The series will be split into four 50-minute installments that will be released theatrically in Japan. The first episode opens June 22, with a DVD release scheduled about a month later on July 26.
