Check out 2 new Star Wars books translated into animated comics

There’s an absolute onslaught of Star Wars stuff hitting shelves as we barrel toward the final countdown for The Force Awakens — and now we have two animated comics to help fill in a few gaps.

Sadly, they’re not the major releases meant to fill in the huge narrative holes. Instead, they’re the more kid-centric books The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure, by Jason Fry, and Smuggler’s Run: A Han Solo Adventure, by Greg Rucka. They both fit into Disney’s ambitious Journey to the Force Awakens initiative. The stories are narrated, and fairly entertaining (if not a bit simple, obviously). But hey, we have a few months to kill until December, so bring it on.
