With the Star Wars franchise enjoying a full-fledged renaissance these days, EA has opened up about what’s coming down the pipe for a galaxy far, far away.
Engadget reports the video game publisher is working with a ton of different developers to roll out new Star Wars stories across a variety of platforms. Motive and DICE are hard at work on a new version of Star Wars: Battlefront penciled in for 2017; Visceral Games (Dead Space) is creating an action-adventure title with an “original narrative set in the Star Wars universe with all-new characters”; and Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall) is putting together a game with "a different style of gameplay that takes place in a different timeline we have yet to explore with our EA Star Wars titles.”
With the movies on hiatus for so long, video games pretty much kept Star Wars alive for a while. With the franchise rolling on all media these days, its great to see the interactive side still drawing a ton of attention to complement the new films.
