Though shooting kicked off a few days ago on Captain America: Winter Soldier, we still don’t really know what to expect from Cap’s new partner the Falcon. But some shiny new concept art gives us our best look yet at what to expect from the classic Marvel character’s introduction.
As comic fans know, the character Falcon (aka Sam Wilson) is Captain America’s longtime partner, first introduced back in the late 1960s. Now he’ll be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Anthony Mackie (Hurt Locker, Gangster Squad) attached to bring him to life in the upcoming Phase 2 sequel.
As you can see above, the Falcon’s costume has some pretty campy origins, but some new concept art that has allegedly leaked out reveals that Marvel is taking a more grounded approach with the big-screen version.
One of his signature abilities is a high-tech wing harness, which allows him to fly through the air. Judging by the pic below, it looks like his latest interpretation will take on a more metallic look, with design cues from the more recent comic versions of the character. Which, let's be honest, is probably for the best.
Check out the concept art below, which surfaced at Spinoff Online and was allegedly leaked from the production:
What do you think? Do you like the new look?
