The tense sci-fi short film The Landing has been raking in awards, and now the full feature is officially online.
If you’re looking for a good way to spend 17 minutes with a throwback sci-fi tale with a creepy, Spielberg-ian vibe — this one is well worth your time. Framed around a man’s memories of a mysterious crash landing during his childhood, spliced in with his modern-day search for the truth, it makes for a tense tale.
Not to give too much away, but it definitely subverts your expectations going in. The film has been making the short film circuit for a while now, and has won more than a dozen awards at various festivals — along with several nominations. The short was directed and co-written by Josh Tanner.
Here’s the tantalizing brief synopsis:
A man returns to the Midwestern farm of his childhood on a desperate mission to unearth the horrifying truth of what landed in the summer of 1960.
