It's been four months since Hellboy creator Mike Mignola announced that his demonic creation would be getting a cinematic reboot, directed by Neil Marshall and starring Stranger Things standout David Harbour. Since then we've had a lot of casting news and a lot of teases about the plot, but no real looks at the film or its characters.
That changed today.
Here, from Mignola's official Twitter page, is your first look at Harbour in full makeup and costume as Hellboy. Behold the Right Hand of Doom.
And here's Harbour himself, making his entrance with a Rolling Stones classic in the iconic Hellboy trenchcoat. (Update: For reasons unknown, Harbour has since removed his post.)
This is obviously a darker look at the character than what Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman brought, but it's still delightful. The hand has a real steampunk vibe, you can glimpse the trademark revolver, and he just overall looks like he's ready to take on the bowels of hell.
We'll update this post with more information as we get it.
