Check out this new Ex Machina trailer to go along with the expanded release

As Alex Garland’s ambitious sci-fi flick expands into additional national markets this week, the studio has released a new trailer ... and you'll never look at a search engine the same way. 

The new trailer ties the story — about programmer Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson), who is tasked with evaluating the mysterious AI android Ava (Alicia Vikander) — to quotes from notable scientists and thinkers, while also splicing in a few quotes from reviewers. It’s a unique trailer, but hey, this seems to be a unique film.

Ex Machina had a limited opening in New York and L.A. earlier this month, and it apparently went well, because the film is now expanding out to several more states this week. It represents the directorial debut for accomplished genre writer Garland (28 Days Later, Dredd), and the high-concept story is getting rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
