Chef Gormaanda from the Star Wars Holiday Special!
The Star Wars Holiday Special is the greatest cinematic treasure ever bestowed upon us. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving. But there's no one performance more underrated or Star Wars character less appreciated than Harvey Korman donning the finest intergalactic space drag Hollywood has ever created as Chef Gormaanda.
For those of you who don't know, Chef Gormaanda was the Julia Child of the galaxy, and for some reason unbeknownst to anyone with half a brain and an ounce of class, Lucasfilm is NOT making a spinoff based solely on her culinary adventures. While Chewie was off getting into his latest mess with Han, his wife Malla was busy working on a feast for her family while watching the famous, four-armed culinary artist that is Gormaanda. I don't know about anyone else, but I am far more interested in a Chef Gormaanda origin story than I am a Boba Fett one, so feel free to scrap that and bring the domestic diva to the big screen. The only problem is that Harvey Korman is no longer with us, so we'd need to find someone worthy of stepping into his wig.
Better yet, Gormaanda should be the next Food Network Star. You know she'd win any throwdown against that smug ginger Bobby Flay, beating him with some crazy space specialty that he's never even heard of. Afterwards she could do a victory tour by appearing on Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party, because nothing goes better with pot brownies quite like Bantha Surprise.
Why is Chef Gormaanda the Chosen One? Because everyone knows that the fastest way to a wookiee's heart is through his stomach, and one can only assume that whatever delicacy she was concocting was pure magic. I bet Gormaanda could stir, whip, stir, whip, whip, whip, stir such a delectable feast that for a few shining moments, 2016 would be filled with pure joy.
