In Buffy the Vampire Slayer's often angst-filled world, there existed one pure source of positivity and kindness, with skin as floppy as his heart was big.
When we first met Clem, he was playing kitten poker with Spike. We do not personally or collectively approve of eating kittens, but we respect his choices. Over time he became the show's most constant presence of warmth and kindness, particularly helpful in Season 6, when everyone is tragic and emo. He's the one who inspired Spike to go get himself one of those soul things Buffy seems to like. And he's so nice to Dawn. Not even the fandom is nice to Dawn. What I'm saying is Clem is better than you. He's better than all of us.
But that's not to say he can't bring the terror.
But only to teach a valuable lesson. Clem is about the children.
Thank you to Clem for being the only bit of real joy around, even in a season where everyone broke out with a mean case of the sing-and-dances. We would totally get hot wings and watch Knight Rider with you anytime, Clem.
