The last four years have seen Jeff Goldblum embrace his inner fashionista, so it is surprising it has taken this long for him to take his rightful place — front row at Fashion Week. At NYFW last month, Goldblum joined Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp, Gwendoline Christie, Rami Malek, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Kate Bosworth at the Calvin Klein spring 2019 presentation.
He did so with his idiosyncratic style, making sure to have a blast while seeing what new garments designer Raf Simmons had on offer.
Wearing a Calvin Klein two-tone satin cowboy shirt and burgundy silk pants from the fall 2018 collection, Goldblum already looks like a Fashion Week expert. This isn’t actually his first experience watching the runway, but he hasn't been to a show in years, telling The Cut his last (and first) show was at an Armani presentation in Milan a long time ago. The Cut’s editor-in-chief Stella Bugbee asked if this outfit made him feel more like a daddy. His answer? A simple “Yes, yes it does.” Yes, the status the internet has bestowed on Goldblum is now an official title.
Also embracing his inner Jeff Goldblum is Riverdale’s Cole Sprouse at the Elle 25th Annual Women in Hollywood celebration, which took place October 15 in Los Angeles. His shirt is the reverse of Goldblum’s and he has gone for a more muted pant, but Sprouse, like Goldblum, opts for more than just an average suit. BRB, just going to go pitch a modern-day western with Goldblum and Sprouse playing father and son working at a rodeo.
This shirt is also available in women’s sizing (and it is currently more than half off) if you fancy a spin at this ensemble.
Back to NYFW, as the Calvin Klein drew not only some the Stranger Things teens — who often stand out on the red carpet — but another Jurassic Park star who was in attendance watching her son make his runway debut. Click through the Instagram post below to see this delightful reunion.
Another iconic Steven Spielberg movie was all over this particular runway, as designer Raf Simmons is a huge fan of Jaws. This is a movie franchise we turned to this summer for style inspiration, and if I could make a request then I would love to see Simmons look to Mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) sports coat selection for his next collection.
Fashion and movies go hand in hand, with one informing the other, as we have seen on numerous occasions throughout the decades. And if Fashion Week is half as fun as Jeff Goldblum makes it look then it is understandable why it is such a big draw for these huge stars.
