One of the best episodes of Batman: The Animated Series is “Almost Got’im.” The most iconic scenes from the series happen within the first with minutes of the episode. Sitting around a card table playing a game of poker are the Joker, Killer Croc, Penguin, Two-Face and Poison Ivy. They tell their stories about how they almost got Batman. Poison Ivy’s story involves a Batmobile willing to do the one thing Batman won’t and that’s murder.

Poison Ivy has the Bat down for the count thanks to some poisonous gas but he manages to reach for his handy dandy glorified fanny pack and summons the Batmobile. Things quickly take a turn and Poison Ivy has to run for her life to avoid being run down by Bruce’s high tech widebody Cadillac with a signature Batman body kit on it. She manages to climb a pole but that doesn’t stop the batmobile from driving right into it, knocking her 20 feet out of the air and onto the ground. That alone should have at least left her with a concussion.

Batman The Animated Series 46. Almost Got 'im

The Batmobile had to be doing at the very least 40 mph as it barreled down on Poison Ivy. She definitely would have become fertilizer had the pole she climbed up not been there. Batman was almost on the hook for vehicular homicide especially if the batmobile would have been anything like K.I.T.T., the car from Knight Rider. Maybe that’s what Bruce has needed all along instead of a bunch of different Robins: a car that was literally "ride or die" for him.
