Look. It's been a rough [insert whatever time unit you best see fit, I'm going with a lustrum or perhaps a jubilee] but today is the 56th birthday of Keanu Charles Reeves and dammit we're celebrating. And I choose to celebrate this holiest of days with a gentle backstroke into the photoshoots of yore when Keanu was but a sapling, still green in youth, and pastel in sweatshirt.
There was gentle Keanu, hugging himself because we simply weren't there to do it for him.
There was chill Keanu, just sitting criss-cross-apple-sauce on a marbled box like some kind of sexy JC Penney portrait.
There was also Keanu riding a fanboat with Rachel Weisz wholly unrelated to that photoshoot but that I had to include because it's powerful and important and because we've all had that dream, amirite?
And then there's Keanu happy, joyous, looking out at the world ahead and letting us all know it's going to be OK. Keanu is here for us. Keanu loves us and wants us to be happy.
Happy birthday, Keanu! We love you and are GRATEFUL.
