Thor actor Chris Hemsworth may not be the most spoiler-prone of the MCU, but he’s certainly become one of the most humorously active online after director Taika Waititi took the Norse god for a spin in Ragnarok.
After playing around with fan favorites and sparking superhero friendships across company lines, Hemsworth decided to tease audiences with tantalizing Avengers 4 info in the wake of Infinity War’s dangling cliffhanger. At last night’s Teen Choice Awards, during which the actor won Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor, Hemsworth accepted his award remotely — which allowed for lots of spoiler-teasing hijinks.
So Stormbreaker clearly didn’t cut it (though, we all know that Thor wasn’t aiming at the right place to begin with), as Hemsworth reaches down to show off the “new weapon” that the God of Thunder will be bringing to the fight against Thanos. Unfortunately, the spotty connection really killed the buzz for what exactly Hemsworth was saying — except a last-minute plea to the Mad Titan to “stop killing [his] friends.”
As strict as Marvel is with its cast and spoilers, this phone call could very well have been a real cry for help from the actor — all disguised as a fun gag. Let’s hope Hemsworth isn’t being locked up somewhere.
Avengers 4 is coming to answer all your questions (for real) on May 3, 2019.
