We're a little more than two weeks out from the release of Jurassic World, and the film's marketing machine is running pretty much as fast as it can, at least until the junkets start. We keep getting new glimpses at footage from the film, and today we got more in the form of a clip that showcases the new take on the franchise's famous raptors.
Almost from the beginning, the film's marketing has played up the relationship between trainer Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and a group of velociraptors. We've seen him standing just feet away from them, unharmed, and we've even seen them running alongside him as he guns his motorcycle. In the clip below, it becomes clear that Grady's mission is to get the raptors to trust him, as he demonstrates by running into their enclosure to both rescue a colleague and keep the raptors from being tranquilized. Check it out:
It's an interesting new approach to working the raptors into the story, but we'll have to wait until we see the whole film to find out how believable and fulfilling it turns out to be.
Jurassic World hits theaters June 12.
