If you were previously tempted by our tantalizing taste of what’s to come from creepy internet baker Christine McConnell’s new Netflix show, we’ve got some good news for you. The Henson Alternative-produced show (like Jim Henson’s main company, only spookier) has dropped its first trailer to celebrate the first of October and we’re hungry for it.
With a properly cheesy narrator and plenty of “hauntingly disturbing confections,” the spiders, rats, and haunted houses McConnell’s serving the Henson puppets all look like a perfectly seasonal alternate to the Great British Baking Show. Less politeness and more possible bite-ness.

Mixing the sheer food porn of her finished creations — like a bear claw that’s an actual bear claw — with the silliness and storytelling of the Cryptkeeper or Elvira, the show looks like a delightfully campy riff on everything the Food Network has to offer. And it’s better to leave on in the background than a Netflix fireplace as Halloween approaches.
Christine McConnell’s Curious Creations come to life on Oct. 12.
