Classic Doctor Who scored and edited like modern Who is oddly mesmerizing

What would happen if you took the classic Doctor Who series and rewired the soundtrack with some of the stalwart tracks from the series’ modern run? This, and it’s weirdly awesome.

Longtime Doctor Who fan and aspiring video editor Nick Acosta loves the classic series — though he also loves the score from the modern-day run. Curious to see what would happen if you put some classic moments from serials like “Doctor Who and the Sea Devils” and “Terror of the Autons” to modern music, he cut together the clip below.

It’s a bit of a culture shock while you acclimate to the clashing styles, but we have to admit, it really kind of works. Say what you will about the modern series versus the classic run, it’s hard to argue that the increased budget of the 2000s version has been a bad thing. We love those classic episodes, too, but we also dig the new tunes.
