In 1975, a very alien race made their one and only appearance on Doctor Who. Until now, that is.

At the start of the 13th season of Doctor Who's classic series, there was a great deal of transition. Tom Baker had only been the Doctor for one year, he was about to lose companion Harry Sullivan, and UNIT was no longer going to be a regular fixture of the show. In the midst of this tumultuous time, the Doctor and Sarah Jane made their way to Scotland to investigate what could very well be the legendary monster of Loch Ness. But there's something else going on along the Scottish moors. An alien race is looking to take the Earth for their very own.

And those aliens are called ...

THE ZYGONS! Could knock me over with a feather to hear that they'll be back. They're quite popular with old-school fans, yes. In fact, every year they're on the list of classic characters fans hope will be brought back. And now here one is!

But for the 50th? The timing is what's really got us thrown. Does this mean we're in for an everything-and-the-kitchen-sink kind of special? If the Zygons are back, then who else?
