We first laid eyes on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger during an awkward meet-cute in the three-and-a-half minute teaser released earlier this year. Now, we’re getting to see their very different lives leading up to that moment in a thrilling new trailer.

As we already know, Cloak, aka Tyrone Johnson (played by The Night Of’s Aubrey Joseph) and Dagger, aka Olivia Holt (played by former Disney star Tandy Bowen) develop their superpowers while forming a romantic relationship together.

Per the comics, the duo realize that their powers get even stronger when they are together, which in theory is great, but when you’re dealing with two young lovers, it becomes quite unpredictable.

But in this clip, it’s clear that they grapple with their abilities when they’re on their own, too. With the use of a split-screen, we see Tyrone and Olivia going about their respective days. From the offset, it's clear they're from different sides of the tracks - with Tyrone leaving a plush suburban town-house, and Olivia exiting what appears to be a trailer park. Olivia is seen pick-pocketing, while Tyrone is drawn to a magic shop that promises teachings of voodoo. The pair then both visit a gravestone, but at different times, which surely hints at the "life-changing event" that is set to bring them together in the show.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger will premiere on Thursday, June 7 (8:00 – 10:00pm ET/PT) on Freeform. Are you going to be tuning in? Let us know in the comments below.
