Here's a new U.S. release trailer for director Yorgos Lanthimos' sarcastically sweet fantasy, The Lobster. This strange and sublime movie about the perilous pursuits of love would have been a perfect date-night flick for Valentine's Day this year, but sadly, after its acclaimed debut at film festivals last year, we won't get to see it until later this spring. Set in a dystopian society where one must find a suitable mate within 45 days or risk being transformed into an animal, the surreal indie film has a Kafka-meets-Charlie-Kaufman quality that invites further debate on the baser angels of our nature and the painfully awkward dance of courtship in the 21st century.
Claw you way into this fresh preview and tell us if The Lobster's seafood fable might be on your viewing plate.
The Lobster opens May 11, 2016, and stars Colin Farrell, John C. Reilly, Rachel Weisz, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw and Olivia Colman.
