In an effort to raise money for victims of the tragic Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, several comic heavyweights are teaming up for a fundraising project called Love Is Love.

The New York Times reports DC Comics and IDW Publishing will team up for a 144-page comic book, with the proceeds benefiting Equality Florida and the group’s fund to assist those affected by the June 12 attack. The ‘book will retail for $9.99 and include more than 100 stories. Creators participating in the project include Patton Oswalt, Damon Lindelof, Phil Jimenez, Olivier Coipel and others. The stories will be 1-2 pages each, which was done to allow more contributors to be involved.

Here’s what the project’s architect Marc Andreyko told The Times:

“I’m a child of the 80s; I grew up with ‘We Are the World’ and Live Aid. Events like this shouldn’t be compartmentalized. They should hurt and we should want to change for the better.”

The comic is set for release in December, and it certainly looks to be a worthy project. It’s great to see a plan come together, especially when it’s publishers working across houses.
