What might have begun as a half-joking idea at DC Comics, pairing the iconic cartoon characters from the toon worlds of Hanna-Barbera and Warner Brothers with classic comic book superheroes, has transformed into a full blown sensation ever since the first wild batch premiered last year.
Titles like Black Lightning/Hong Kong Phooey, Batman/Elmer Fudd, The Flash/Speed Buggy, Martian Manhunter/Marvin the Martian, Aquaman/Jabber Jaw, and Jonah Hex/Yosemite Sam have featured an all-star roster of talent having a total blast with these unlikely pairings.
The newest quartet, dropping August 29, showcases more Looney Tunes favorites encountering some of DC's flagship personalities in a series of wacky but wonderful one-shots that includes: Catwoman/Sylvester and Tweety, Harley Quinn/Gossamer, Lex Luthor/Porky Pig, and the ultimate union of unhinged madness, The Joker/Daffy Duck written by Scott Lobdell with art by Brett Booth.
SYFY WIRE scored an exclusive 6-page peek at The Joker/Daffy Duck Special #1, which finds Daffy visiting Gotham City to tour the ACME headquarters, only to discover that the building has been abandoned and taken over by the infamous Clown Prince of Crime. The goofy quacker attempts an escape but is cornered by the lunatic crime lord. Seeing a way to capitalize on the situation, Joker decides there could be some profit in this manic bird and forces Daffy to join his gang. Will he find a way to escape…or will he become The Joker’s new right-hand duck?
