Shade, a mutant drag queen, makes her debut in Marvel's Iceman, and Dark Horse teases another Fight Club graphic novel sequel make up our latest comics roundup.

First up, Marvel ComicsIceman, their only comic book featuring an LGQBT lead in Bobby Drake, just introduced an all-new character that's already winning over fans. That character is Shade, a mutant drag queen who has the ability to teleport, as well as create a pocket dimension inside her folding fan.

Shade comes from writer Sina Grace, who also penned Iceman's 2017 series. Grace regularly put Drake's identity front and center — wrestling with who he was as both a mutant and a gay man. After his initial run was canceled after only 11 issues, fan demand brought the series back, with Grace in tow.

"I really wanted this series to push readers to new and better stories about the whole queer experience and how it applies to being both a mutant and a superhero," Grace told The Advocate in a recent interview. "There’s a million different queer perspectives and we’re only scratching the surface."

Shade first appeared in Iceman #4, and showed back up again in the next issue. She'll also be appearing in X-Men: Winter's End next month, and will almost certainly continue to show up in future mutant adventures.

Next, Dark Horse Comics announced another Fight Club sequel from author Chuck Palahniuk. The 12-issue maxi-series, titled simply Fight Club 3, finds the anonymous narrator keeping up his tradition of using antiquated names and going by Balthazar, living with Marla and their son in a run-down motel. Which is all very on-brand.

Per a report from Deadline, the new story involves a group that's bent on their "deviant plan to fine-tune mankind," which means Balthazar is forced to forge an alliance with his alter ego, Tyler Durden.

This is the second Fight Club comic Dark Horse has released that continues the story that began in his 1996 novel, which was made into a fairly influential film in 1999. Maybe you've heard of it? The initial sequel, Fight Club 2: The Tranquility Gambit, revived the characters back in 2015. Check out the trailer ...

Deadline got an exclusive seven-page preview, as well as a special Dark Horse-produced trailer for the upcoming Fight Club 3. The first issue will be available for purchase on Jan. 30.
