There’s no denying the inclusion of Matt Ryan’s John Constantine in Episode 308 of Legends of Tomorrow was pretty darn awesome, giving us one of the best episodes of the season to-date. Fans clamoring for more will be excited to learn the occult detective and demonologist will return for at least two more episode of The CW’s time travel superhero series.
First reported by Comicbook.com, the news was confirmed by SYFY WIRE via The CW that Ryan will indeed return for the 15th episode of Season 3 titled “Necromancing the Stone” (slated to air on March 19). The CW has since confirmed he'll also be back for the season finale. The confirmation comes in the wake of an Instagram pic released by Legends co-star Nick Zano who posted a picture of himself in character as a bruised-up and bloodied Nate Heywood with the caption: “Going into the last episode of the season like...” Behind the actor you can clearly see Ryan wearing the character’s trademark trenchcoat and bleached blond hair.
Since the team is taking on Mallus, it’s no surprise the Legends will need to call on the Hellblazer to take on the Season 3 Big Bad.
When John left the Waverider at the end of “Daddy Darhkest,” he told Sara (Caity Lotz) to call him if they needed his help against Mallus. He also told Ray (Brandon Routh) to keep his anti-magic gun closeby in case they would need it against Sara who let herself be possessed so she could cast a spell to escape the predicament they were in at the time. He's since proven that weapon is quite handy against the magical folks.
After originating the role on NBC’s short-lived Constantine (from 2014-2015), Ryan made his debut in the Arrowverse on the Season 4 episode of Arrow, “Haunted.” Along with his recent stint(s) on Legends of Tomorrow, the actor will reprise the role in animated form on the CW Seed’s Constantine, slated to air sometime this year.
Are you excited to learn that we’ll get two more episodes with Ryan's John Constantine on this season of Legends of Tomorrow? Would you like to see him make the gig more permanent?
