John Constantine rises from network TV death once again to make another appearance in the Arrow universe — and fans can now get a first glimpse of the character's upcoming guest stint on Legends of Tomorrow courtesy of this fleeting Twitter tease from showrunner Marc Guggenheim.

After the Ryan-led NBC show, which explored the exorcist-detective’s inner (and outer) demons, was canceled after a single season in 2014, fans have remained adamant that the character not fade from their screens. Following an appearance on Arrow, in which the occult-steeped antihero tackled a supernatural gauntlet that the Starling City crew didn’t have the chops for, it was announced that Constantine would pop up on the third season of the spin-off Legends of Tomorrow.

Based on a snapshot of a monitor from the edit room — which you can see below — it’s clear that Ryan joins Brandon Routh (another superhero face who seems extra perseverant) for a bit of chain-smoking and conversation during an episode titled “Daddy Darhkest.” That’s not a typo: It seems Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) will return to life, probably because time is broken and all these DC shows seem to have very liberal definitions of dead.

Dark magic, time travel, and a confirmed in-episode exorcism mean that fans of the character will be getting exactly what they crave, though in doses too small for a fanbase still bitter over their beloved show’s cancellation. The sheer number of fun plot points you can spin on Constantine practically sets him up as a Legends of Tomorrow scene-stealer begging for a spin-off — a strange, ironic twist considering he's here after his own stand-alone series tanked.

However, after gazing longingly at the image tweeted out above (where Ryan is in the character’s signature trench), fans of his iteration of the antihero can look forward to his voice-acting role when Constantine gets the animated treatement on The CW Seed next year.
